Fall Lecture for the "Gardeners by the Sea"
Friday September 12 at 2 p.m.
Memorial Hall in The Ocean View Presbyterian Church in Ocean View, Delaware (just West of Bethany Beach)
Mike will address the "Gardeners by the Sea", the salty members of the Bethany Beach Garden Club at 2pm on Friday September 12 with lots of fall gardening tips and a big Q & A session. A limited numbers of tickets ($7. each) are available for non-members, but don't delay! For tickets, contact Pat Fulton at 302-537-1512.

Pinelands Native Plant Sale & Garden Fair
Saturday, September 20th at 1 p.m.
Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge; Medford, New Jersey Mike will appear to tout composting and provide lots of chemical-free landscape tips and advice at this Native Plant Sale to benefit the preservation of the Pinelands at the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in Medford, New Jersey. The event itself runs from 11 to 4, and it's all free (so buy a lot of plants)! Details: www.state.nj.us

Mike at The Philadelphia Fall Home Show

Mike will appear on Friday and Saturday of this three date event (it continues through Sunday). Mike will talk about fall gardening & compost making and answer your toughest garden questions at noon and 5 on Friday; and at noon and 3 on Saturday. Event details: www.paconvention.com

Fall Festival at Herbein's Garden Center

Tree Tender Training
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will lead hands-on workshops this fall in Delaware, Chester and Philadelphia counties. The nine-hour training includes tree identification, proper planting and maintenance techniques and a lesson in community organizing. Free, but registration is required. Individuals are welcome, but groups of three or more neighbors who complete the training can receive tools and special opportunities/resources for planting trees in public spaces.
